Classes Run June 10-July 31, 2014



KinderArt (4-5 years old): Tues & Thurs 4-5 pm, Wed 10-11 am

Class Description: All inclusive program using various materials to introduce children to the world of color, form, and texture.  Individual attention will be given to each child as they develop their skills in this Fine Arts class.  Oil pastel, acrylics, watercolors, clay, and more.  All supplies will be provided for each project.  TUITION:  $160 for 7 sessions.




Children's Pottery: Tues & Thurs 1-3 pm, Wed 4-6 pm

Adult & Teen Pottery: Tues 6:30-8:30 pm, Thurs 10 am-12 pm

Class Description: Open classroom setting for all levels.  Novice - Intermediate - Advanced - all welcome.  Hand-built and wheel techniques using extruder, slab roller, and potter’s wheel will be taught.  Individuals may choose their projects and glazes.  All materials and tools will be provided for this unique class adventure. TUITION $200 for 7 sessions (includes materials)

Adult Multi-Media: Tues & Thurs 10 am-12 pm & 6:30-8:30

Teen Multi-Media: Tues 1-3 pm & 6:30-8:30 pm, Thurs 10 am-12 pm & 6:30-8:30 pm

Class Description: Students will develop drawing and painting skills using direct observation and imagination. Line, color, shape, perspective and composition will all be explored. Mediums include pencil, oil painting, charcoal, watercolor and acrylic paint. Emphasis will be placed on finding and developing a personal style. Meeting weekly. TUITION: $160 for 7 sessions (Student must provide supplies which can be purchased in our office.)


Theater Summer Camps

A Midsummer Camp's Dream (12-15 yrs. old)

This daytime camp gets teens on their feet and learning the ins and outs of how to perform in the Bard's iambic pentameter, what the stage was like at the Globe Theater and how to face Shakespeare with no fear. Campers will also explore essential topics such as staging, set building and even some stage combat. The two week camp will culminate with a performance of an abridged version of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Students are asked to bring a snack and a lunch each day.

When: June 16-21 & 23-27; Mon-Thurs 9 am-2 pm, Fri 9 am-12 pm

Where: Younts Center for Performing Arts

Cost: $300 per student

Fractured Fairytale Theater (9-11 yrs. old)

In this children's theater camp, kids learn the basics of the stage while discovering new things about the fairy tales they've grown up with. With a focus on stage directions, theater vocabulary, basic reading and performing and how to put on a show, this camp will get young actors out of their shells and up on stage in no time! The two week camp will culminate with a performance of an original play called The Fairytale Forest (and what went on there...) on the Younts Center stage. Students are asked to bring a snack and a lunch each day.

Vocal Performance

Camp


Shining Stars Camp (12+ yrs. old)

In this intensive singing and performance camp, students will get individual work on their singing, harmonizing, dancing and stage presence.Vocal teacher Cindy Overfield guides the young singers through tips and tricks that will get them looking and sounding like the pros. The campers will also work together as a group to develop a show that they'll perform for friends and family on the Thursday evening of the camp. Students are asked to bring a snack and a lunch each day.
